For all our N scale layouts, we use Fleischmann Piccolo tracks with integrated plastic ballast beds.
Tracks with integrated ballast are of excellent quality, easy to mount with screws, and feature highly reliable turnout motor operations.
They might seem more expensive at first glance, but if you look closely at the math, the total final expense is virtually equivalent.
Indeed, turnout motors are not particularly pricey, and the built-in ballast avoids the use of expensive cork sheets underlayment.
Securing them with screws allows you to disassemble them easily whenever necessary without causing damage. The entire layout can be taken apart, and the tracks retrieved looking almost brand new…
These are the core reasons why we recommend using them.
In the Reserved Area, you can find more technical specifications regarding these track systems.
